Jose's Take
Palm Beach Gardens is where I send families relocating from the Northeast who want good elementary schools and don't want to deal with a long commute to retail. Marsh Pointe and Timber Trace are two of the highest-rated public elementary schools in Palm Beach County. The Gardens Mall and Legacy Place handle most errands without leaving the city. The conversation I have with buyers who have high-school-aged kids is straightforward: PBG High is a 3/10, and they should budget Benjamin School or Oxbridge Academy into their monthly costs before committing.

Honest ranges, not the headline number on Zillow.
$350K – $550K
Golf Community Condos and Townhomes
Condos and townhomes in communities such as PGA National, The Club at Ibis, or BallenIsles, typically 1–3 bedrooms, 1,000–1,800 sq ft, with access to resort pools, fitness centers, and golf amenities. HOA fees in bundled golf communities can run $800–$1,200/month and meaningfully affect the true monthly cost, verify dues and included amenities before comparing to condo prices in other cities.
$550K – $850K
Single-Family Homes, Family Sweet Spot
Single-family homes in Evergrene, Bent Tree, Mirasol's non-golf sections, or newer northern subdivisions. Buyers find 3–4 bedrooms and 1,800–2,800 sq ft, private yards, and proximity to the 10/10-rated elementary schools. This bracket draws the most family buyers and moves faster than the condo tier.
$850K – $2.5M+
Premium Golf and Gated Communities
Larger homes in Mirasol, BallenIsles, Old Palm, and Alton's custom-home sections. Buyers find 4–6 bedrooms, 3,000+ sq ft, lake or golf course views, pools, and private club access. New construction at Alton covers the upper end; resale at Mirasol and BallenIsles offers more options across a wider price range within the tier.

About Palm Beach Gardens
Palm Beach Gardens is a planned city of 61,000 built around a championship golf identity that has grown into a full-service suburban community with a wide range of housing, from golf-community condos to newer single-family subdivisions. Marsh Pointe and Timber Trace Elementary are among the top-rated public elementary schools in Palm Beach County. The Gardens Mall, Legacy Place, and PGA Commons put retail and dining within the city without a highway drive. The trade-offs are real. The median resident age of 51.8 skews toward active adults and retirees; the energy is quieter than Jupiter, and the beach is a 15-minute drive rather than a walk. A family budget under $550,000 now buys a condo or older townhome rather than a move-in-ready single-family home with a yard, and HOA fees in golf communities add meaningfully to monthly costs. The high school carries a 3/10 GreatSchools rating, a real concern for families with teenagers, even accounting for its Cambridge and AP magnet programs. Many families with high-school-aged children in PBG supplement with Benjamin School, Oxbridge Academy, or other private options. For K–8 families, few cities in Palm Beach County can match the public school options at this price point.
